After the process of creating the crib, painting, it was time for creating the figures of Mary and Joseph from Toilet Paper rolls and fabric pieces and raffia; Jesus and sheep from cork, fabric and cotton wool....we made accessories four our crib such as a windmill using TP roll, glue, tissues, paint and wooden pieces; a palm tree from string, masking tape and wire, a glittery star, mangers from egg cartons and gates from twigs.
It was time to put all of our hard work together. The result: a success and lots of smiling faces (the children's, as well as Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus Himself!)

Nativity Glass Painting Stage #1
The kids had a go at drawing on the outline of Mary with Baby Jesus in her arms together with Joseph on a transparent glass, using a gold liner especially used for glass painting. This was quite challenging- it helped the children develop a steadier hand and a more determined stroke! The kids also created their own decorations on the clothes of Mary and Joseph.
Next week we'll get to paint inside the outline using glass paints- you can light the candle in the glass and see those translucent colours shine through!

Oh Christmas Tree!
Puff'n'nlow Christmas Trees with watery paint, and others created using different-sized palette knives (of course we HAD to mention our star, Vincent Van Gogh thanks to his marvellous impasto painting and skill for the palette knife!) What a great way to start off the Christmas season...
Yet more cribs....
Our cribs are finally looking complete...with a dusty rocky texture and 'grassy' grounds, all it needs is now a star, gates, some sheep, some far away houses, trees, and of course Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus!!
Through his process the children are learning how everyday things can be turned into marvellous creative objects and decorations, as well appreciating the fact of reusing.

Oh the cutest angel EVER!!!
This adorable angel is practically made of lots of bits and bobs put together...an old (folded) book to create the angel's body, a stuffed head, raffia, paper doilies, glitters, thin and thick wire, ribbons, and of course...the Carol Book decorated with the kids' own musical notes (we had a discussion about this, and what the different notes mean!) Please prepare your angel to await for the crib and Baby Jesus which will come next week!
