Celebrating Valentine's Day at Budding Artists

This week's lesson is full of Valentine hearts! We'll be making a Valentine topiary tree craft, painting hearts in different tones (learning about colour gradient) and drawing Valentine trees!

Air-Drying Clay Carnival Masks (stage 3- dry brushing and embellishing)

Once the underpaint was dry, children applied the dry-brushing technique on their clay masks using paintbrushes and metallic acrylic paint. This gave an overall shine without covering up the base paint, and also enhanced the detail and texture in the clay which the children so lovingly created!

Once the dry brushing was dry, the children embellished their masks using ribbon, glitter and pom-poms.
