Autumn Pumpkin Arrangement

We celebrated the change of weather and the change to Winter time this weekend by creating this Autumn Pumpkin Tree using twigs, dried leaves, artificial straw, an assortment of ribbons and orange crepe paper.

Halloween has also influenced this Autumn tree and the kids had fun creating ghosts from paper napkins and bats and spiders from black paper, star punchers and Jack o'Lanterns!

We created an Autumn setting to photograph the final work- I love the result! I hope your Autumn Tree warms your homes and table tops as mine is doing at our home =)

Impasto painting

What a messy day =))) You should have seen us getting all dirty and messed up with thick poster paint, applied thickly on cardboard using all sizes and types of spoons, as well as different sorts of plastic knives and forks!!

And of course, impasto cannot be done by not mentioning the grand name of the wonderful artist Vincent Van Gogh…our muse.

Have to go… got to clean the paint off the classroom table, floor and bathroom sink! =) Clikc on this link to see all the photos...

Ġgantija Temples Collage

Making a collage using a vast range of different types, textures and colours of paper to create the Ġgantija temples from plan view.

The children were surprised by the legend behind the Ġgantija temples… it goes that a giantess called Sansuna, who was on a diet of only broad beans, has built the temples whilst carrying her baby daughter on one arm- hence the Mother and Daughter temple (one of the temples is larger than the other.)

I am inspired by these legends and our beautiful pre-history as much as the children, which has led me to create one of my beloved art collections PRESTIGE…REVIVING THE PAST. If you are interested, you can visit my website on www.bernicebuhagiar.com or find me, Bernice Buhagiar on my Facebook page.

Now….check the children’s work out!!! http://bernicebuddingartists.wordpress.com/2012/10/06/ggantija-temples-collage/
